Some Writing for You To Enjoy.

I have decided to do a bi-monthly post of short encouraging articles. As I go along, I will post articles about writing and mini-stories. My writing and stories, that is. I have been writing ‘seriously’ for about seven years. I noticed that I have published some 820 posts on this site alone. It seems to be a sizeable amount of writing, but never at any time did it appear that I was writing so much. I put that down to the fact that I have loved and enjoyed every word I have written. With this in mind, I hope you enjoy reading these titbits, and please, if you do, share them with others.

Are You Successful?

Earl Nightingale defines success as: “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal.”

Bear Earl’s quote in mind as you read my words on the subject:

Set yourself aside in a quiet spot with a pencil and notepad. Close your eyes and allow your mind to be still. Look back on your life and think of every accomplishment you ever made – no matter how small. The more you still your mind, the more you search your memory, the more the accomplishments will reveal themselves.

At first, they will come like drops from a dripping tap, but with patience and perseverance, they will arrive like a fast-flowing river. As the accomplishments – no matter how small, come, write them down with your pencil in the notebook. They will not flow chronologically, but do not be concerned –keep writing. Do not concern yourself with spelling, grammar, etc. –keep writing. Do enjoy your discovery- and Do keep writing. Tidy your list up, and type it with the heading, “I Am An Accomplished Woman.” Place this list where you can view it last thing at night and first thing in the morning. During each day, add new accomplishments to your list – no matter how small. The result of disciplining yourself to do this list is that you will see yourself through a unique and realistic filter. You will then accord yourself the badge of “I Am A Successful Woman.”

I was asked, “What about successful men?” I replied, “Foolishly, we men tend to be egotistical and will not take up the discipline to make this list. Women, on the other hand, are far more sensible – they will. The best we men can do is celebrate that our counterparts are recognized for who they are – Successful women!

P.S. So that you know – I am a ‘We‘ man too.
